Citrix client cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. An I/O error occurred while your request was being processed
Hi
I’m trying to connect to a citrix server from my client PC but I keep getting the following error message:
“Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. An I/O error occurred while your request was being processed”.
What could it be the cause of the problem.
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Deepak

I am having the same problem except only one user is getting this error. The firewall is passing these ports properly and the Citrix client is up to date. Is there anything else that can be tried?
I upgraded all our Citrix Servers to 5.2, we also have to use an external Citrix Server managed by the State of Utah which I'm sure is a presentation server 4.5 at most. When I install the 11.2 web client I get the OPDBSvb ERROR (PDBS is the name of the application) "Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. An I/O (Input/Output) error occurred while your request was being processed. Try to connect again. If you continue to receive this message, contact your Citrix administrator." The only way I found to resolve this problem was to down grade the client to 10.2 I have replicated the problem and solution on XP and Windows 7 clients.
This answer does not help me, what port should I be looking for to open in my firewall?? (I assume that's what the accepted solution is alluding to..)
