RPC Server unavailable for Winfax Pro

I am trying to connect Winfax Pro from a client computer to a Host computer on the network.  When Winfax tries to ping the host (either by computer name or ip address) it comes back with an error message that the RPC Server is unavailable.  I made sure the RPC is started on the host computer.  Any ideas why it won't connect?

It was the windows firewall!!
Good. I'm glad it was that easy. You might want to consider another firewall, as Windows Firewall is better than nothing, but certainly not that good. I'd reccomend ZoneAlarm from ZoneLabs (www.zonelabs.com) as it is cheap, full-featured, and they have a very good free version for personal use. If you use it, make sure you make your LAN in the trusted zone, or else it breaks file/printer sharing. I don't have it open in front of me, but I think its like Firewall tab, Zones tab, and Add>Site... Name it LAN, type in the IP address of your router and its subnet (Example for Linksys gear: Site/IP address: 192.168.1.1, Subnet: 255.255.255.0.)

Glad to help.
