Open Outlook by Shell or Outlook object model

Is there a way to find out which folder Outlook.exe has been installed to? I'm writing a VB6 project that needs to open Outlook (versions 2000 - 2003), and I know that each version has a different default installation folder.

Alternatively, is there a way to open Outlook using the OL object model, but not specify a folder to show (ie, allow OL to open and show the user's default initial view, whether Outlook Today or calendar or inbox)?

Thanks very much
