asked on

extend xbox controller

Hey experts,

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope it is in the right area.

I am trying to help someone create a "media closet" inside would be a VCR, DVD, stereo (amp ect..), and an xbox live.

I am going to install 4 rca wall plates behind the T.V. area to connect the VCR, and the DVD with 2 extra for future use.

My question is: how can i get the xbox live controller extended 30-50 feet. I am reluctant to tell him to go wireless because a headphone is used in conjunction with the controller. I have never played xbox so if you do help me with an answer please explain it like i am 5 years old.

Most of the wire would be inside the wall and in the ceiling. I just found a pretty nice wireless live controller but would like to use it only as a last resort.

What about different placement of the xbox?  Maybe it would benefit to have it closer?  Not needing to get up to change games, power on and off.

On a separate note, there is info out there on how to remotely power on the xbox, which if it's going to be in a media closet, you may want to look into.  This way you can power it on from the xbox controller.
So, what did you decide to do?  made any decisions yet?
Any word on resolution?
I think all contributors had useful ideas, how about a split?
