How to tell why isa is blocking?

Hi,

How can I tell why ISA is blocking a certain site?

A default ISA server don't have any sites blocked. If a site is blocked with the ISA server, the rule is set by a system administrator. So if a site is blocked, there's a reason for it. Maybe your sysadmin have written some sort of descripton for that rule, but you need access to the ISA server for viewing that.

Talk to your sys-admin if you want an answer to that.

On ISA 2004 you can use the Management Console and access the monitoring tab. Here you can define your own criteria for searching the log files. It can either be a Live state or a historical query.

You should be able to clearly see why a site has been blocked as well as the asscociated rule that blocked it.

Which version of ISA are you running?
