troubleshooting Question

If exception is thrown, will the method return the value?

for example:

public Data findData() throws SQLException{
  Data data = new Data();

  //"search from db"
  if(found)
     data.setFound(true);
  else
     data.setFound(false);

  return data;
}

then the caller:
try{
    Data d = findData();
} catch(SQLException sqlex){}


so, what will d be if the "search from db" code throws sqlex? will it be null or new Data() ??
