We have software which enables a client to back-up data to our servers over the internet. The software is from NovaStor. The program runs on a HP DL 360 G3 server with 3 gig of memory, and is attached to a HP DL 380 G3 server through a Cisco gigabit switch. The DL 380 has a HBA card installed which goes to a fiberswitch that has several storage devices attached to it.
ALl drivers and BIOS are up to date. Both server have 80 gigs worth of hard drive space and 3 gig of RAM.
Users authenticate through active directory and then the NovaStor software. Windows 2003 standard server is on teh front server with th esoftware and Windows 2003 Enterprise edition is on teh server with the HBA.
We have been getting event ID 50 " Delayed write errors" Sometimes up to 25 timesa night. The enable smb signature is set to 0 on both servers, and there is no setting for disk caching on teh hba.
We have also tried;:
elminating the back-end server and just using one server for the entire process -same result
Using mapped drives instead of UNC for drive access -NovaStor will not let us do this
Use different servers, same OS and hardware model -same result
Bypass the fiber switch and go directly into the server HBA -same result
Novastor clains that other customers are using their software in the same configuration with suiccess.
This problem reared its' ugly head after upgrading to windows 2003 server from Windows 2000 server.
Any help would be appreciated.
