I have a wireless network set up in my home which I use for my laptop, and the whole set up works fine.

I have a desktop PC which does not have a wireless card to connect to network. I was looking to use a cross over cable to connect my desktop PC to my laptop when required and I was hoping that this would work fine and the desktop PC would then be connected to the internet as it was in the past.

Unfortunately, although there does appear to be a connection, all I can is see my network icons in the system tray of the laptop and desktop PC saying 'Aquiring network address' then a speech bubble appears on both machines saying 'The connection has limitied or no connectivity'

What else is required or can this be done?
