strange DNS issues

I'm having some strange DNS issues.  Most websites come up fine, but some give strange problems.  www.microsoft.com times out completely, www.msn.com and www.ebay.com comes up but takes forever to load but are missing graphics, style, etc.  It displays a message stating to upgrade to a newer browser.

If I set my ISP's DNS on a client's WinXP TCP/IP properties, no problems at all.

On the server, I have forward and reverse lookup zones configured and a pointer record for local IP to server.domain.local.

Below are some nslookup results with current configuration clients set to obtain DNS automatically.

Any more diagnostics I can run to tell wher the problem lies or does anyone have any ideas?

>nslookup www.microsoft.com
Server:  server.domain.local
Address:  192.168.2.5

DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
