Recommended RAM for my motherboard
Greetings all,
I am in need of getting some RAM to replace a faulty RAM module. I would like to get some recommendations on brand as well as the best place to purchase. I have a Gigabyte P4 Titan Socket 478 Motherboard (model #GA-8LD533-P). If I read the documentation correctly I need DDR266( PC2100) 184 pin (2.5v) . I would like to get two 512meg modules (is that the correct way to refer to RAM?). Any recommendations for what manufacturer and were the best place to purchase would be, as far as price?
Hopefully, I can get some suggestions quickly since my RAM is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Thanks!
Shannon

DDR266( PC2100) 512MB as description is enough. In my opion every brand is OK. Noone can afford to produce "bad" RAM anymore. There are brands like Kingston that give you lifelong garantee but they cost more. Just go to a reasonable shop, compare some prises and buy them.
You can go for any of the manufacturer like Hyundai/ Hynix, Kingston. Here I can refer u following site from where u can grab some valueable information as well as price of RAM.

Kingston are a pretty good brand, also Corsair and Mushkin. Try and get something with a lifetime warranty.. obviously the ones you have weren't.

Ahhhh, so if I understand you correctly, the MHz rating is the minimum that I need and it would not be a problem to get a higher rating, like 400?
That's correct :)

Excellent. I shall take your advice and let you know how it goes once the RAM arrives!

Just got the RAM in today. Had it installed and back up and running with more RAM total in five minutes. Very nice. Many thanks all!
Glad to hear everything worked out well :)
