Windows Update Problems

Hey all,

having problems with windows update again! :D
when i go to the windows update website, i get the following error:

[Error number: 0x80092026]

this comes up before the scan button comes up, heres my Windowsupdate.log

also, Automatic Update came up today, and i was able to get a list of availabe updates, but when i try to install them (they were auto-downloaded) it says the following updates failed to install: and i have a list of them all

btw, not sure if this is any help, but i contacted Microsoft support about this (they provide free support for windows update problems)

they told me to delete the folder WUTemp, which did not work! ^_^, i replied back to them telling them it did not work and i did not get a responce bk -_-

Hello Nightma12,

You can try the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher
Under "TrustedPublisher" look for "Safer" key and delete it.

Are you behind a watchgaurd firewall? If you are you will need to add some content entries in the allow list.

plimpias: what do u mean by watchguard firewall? im running Tiny Personal Firewall(which i intend to swap to kerio soon), but i just tried disabling the firewall and it did not work :(

wtf?

very very strange, i enabled my group policys, and disabled again and i went to windows update and it works 0.o

im willing to give points to anyone who can explain why its working now :P
