I have recently been working with a windows 2000 SP4 server that has a few issues upon taking control of the box and I am stumped with trying to fix the issues.

One problem I am trying to over come is that when in the services applet and I attempt to start a service the task will not start and basically does not respond in a timely fashion etc.

So then when you change the service start up to automatic for that task and then click apply the services manager just pauses, so have to do an end task to get out of the manager.

Any ideas whats up, I believe some of the problem maybe the admin password was changed some months ago and these errors are related?.

Any tips greatly appreciated.
