Hi

I have been having problems with disk administration in Solaris.  I am awareot the different processes involved (although I dont understand what they do and why they do it).  The creation of a logical structure, formatting the disk, mounting the disk etc.

Could someone describe for me, sequentially, what is required from the moment I purchase a new disk and connect it to the system, what I have to do and why I have to do it, to get the additional space the disk offers available on my system.  I have limited experience of operating systems, and solaris, and I can assusre you I am not at school, but a DBA trying to get to grips with unix operating systems.  I will probably have to ask for clarifications through out the live of this request string.

Thanks in advance
