Restricted User Name - "Windows cannot create the new user object..."
Forgive me if this more closely related to Exchange 2003 rather than the group in which I've posted, but it applies to restricted user names in Server 2003.
I must find a way to create the e-mail address 'service@mydomain.net' on a new Exchange 2003 installation, re-creating all my existing addresses.
When attempting to create a new user called 'service', the following error is generated:
"Windows cannot create the new user object because the pre-Windows 2000 logon name service is already in use. Select another name, and try again."
I understand this to be a restricted name as listed in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q266633, and I'm seeking a way to work around this behavior to accomodate this important address.
Thanks!
