Forgive me if this more closely related to Exchange 2003 rather than the group in which I've posted, but it applies to restricted user names in Server 2003.
I must find a way to create the e-mail address 'firstname.lastname@example.org' on a new Exchange 2003 installation, re-creating all my existing addresses.
When attempting to create a new user called 'service', the following error is generated:
"Windows cannot create the new user object because the pre-Windows 2000 logon name service is already in use. Select another name, and try again."
I understand this to be a restricted name as listed in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q266633
, and I'm seeking a way to work around this behavior to accomodate this important address.
