OWA Users cannot open PDF Files
We have an Exchange 2003 server environment with OWA running with SSL. we just had a user tell us that he could not open PDF files. I tried this from home as well, and no luck. The attachment has the warning Attachments can contain viruses...and may not be displayed correctly. The filename is .pdf, but when you open it, it opens it in IE and just jibberish. I tried to disable HTTP 1 and also edit preferences in Adobe Reader and have also tried to save the file locally first, but still no luck. I also checked the Level 1 and Type 2 attachments and pdf is not listed so by default it's not blocked. What else?
Thank you in advance.

did you try correcting the file association? since IE is opening when you try to open up acrobat it sounds like either acrobat is not installed, or pdf files are associated with IE instead of acrobat.

Yes I did. When i try to open it up now or in a new window, it just disappears! It will open the new window, say that it's downloading, then go away. It's weird. No jibberish though.
Open up adobe on its own. Go to the edit menu, then choose preferences. Go down the list to the "internet" settings. Uncheck the box for dispaly PDF in browser.
now try it.
now try it.

Yes, I have that already. pdf is not in the Level 1 or 2 list and I accept all attachments by default. Thanks for the input. I will go ahead and award the points to athelu. We are saving locally and that works for us. Thank you. ~LadyEye
