Upgrading to SP2 problems

I wish to upgrade to Service Pack 2 (from my legitimate SP1), but whenever I go to the microsoft web site to download "Update for Windows XP (KB898461)" , I get a CRC (cyclic redundancy check) error. The same happens when I try to download SP2 directly.

Any help?

make sure you have the latest bios update for your machine
SP2 was released last August and was available as a free CD from Microsoft. If you can't download it for whatever reason you can order the CD here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

Also, it was released on many cover discs at the time so going through old computer magazines or asking around mioght secure you a copy on CD.

If you still want to download, its worth checking for the usual things before trying again :

Spyware / Adware / Malware / Viruses.

Krakers.
Rather than go to the update site have you tried downloading the entre service pack and installing it localy?

Wonder if that would work any better?
