I have columns that store items for web pages. Sometimes I put some HTML tags inside these since it makes things easier.
Unfortunately, this messes up the ORDER BY since '<' comes before alphabetic characters.
Oracle 8i does not have built in Regular Expressions :(
However I have found this page
Would it be possible for me to create a PLSQL function, say, strip_html(), and then do a
SELECT id, strip_html(title) AS cleanTitle FROM xxxx ORDER BY cleanTitle
If so, what would I put in this strip_html plsql procedure?
