Is there a way to change the IP address, netmask, default route (gateway) on a Cisco 1700 router remotely? The router I'd like to change is in another city, 3 hours away, and I don't really want to travel there, just to do this. The ISP is going to be changed, so I need to reconfigure it ahead of time. My concern is that I am under the impression that changes take place immediately. I'm pretty sure it did that on another Cisco on this network. So, if I go and change the IP, I expect I will lose my telnet session. So, is there a way to do this remotely?  This has to be done right away, so any quick help would be so much appreciated.
