I am trying to create a sed command to change text. This is the cygwin
sed running under a dos prompt. The command is

sed "s/(\([a-zA-Z0-9_$\+\-\*\.\ ]*\))/)\1(/g" a.txt > b.txt

but it doesn't match the ' or - and if I add \" it fails with an error message.
Any ideas?
