AT Command- Turn on Microphone?

Hello,

What I am looking for is the AT command to turn on the microphone.  This command is the same that one would use in Hyperterminal. I am trying to have what is heard on the speakers transferred through the phone line- so the party I am calling can hear it.

I have tried to use commands ATX4M0 and ATX4M3- then the dial command of ATDT (Number).  That just turns on the speakers and doesn’t transfer what is heard on the speakers through the phone line.  Please post the command here.  Thanks a lot for your time.

Divt or other professional,

I tried the command ATX4M2- it didn't work.  I was able to hear the computer dial the number, but wasn't able to hear what was going the speakers- through the phone line.  Please advise.

Thank you.
jjrr007,

If you meant you'd like to hear the 'conversation' of data communication, I think that may not be possible.  As far as I know, no modem offer that functionality.

But other experts may have different ideas.

Divt or other professional,

I think I didn't make myself clear.  This is what I am looking for:

I am looking for the AT command that will allow me to-
After the computer dials the phone number (using a ATDT command).  Their is going to be music played on the speakers of the computer- at that time the phone line will still be open.  I want the other party I called to hear the music playing.

Please let me know the command that I would use before the ATDT dial command that will allow this to happen.

Thank you.
I think I understand your need now.  Sort of "music on hold" isn't it.  I am not sure if this is possible.  In order to deliver the music from your end to other party, your modem must be able to tap the music data somehow.  As far as I know, no AT commands can do this, as it's not part of AT command functionality.

Divt or other professional,

I called it music just to simplify the explanation.  It will actually be using is the VB.NET text to speech function.  I have all of the other parts of the VB.NET code.  The VB.net code that I have written uses AT commands to dial etc. My hope is that I could precede the AT dial command, with a command that will allow what is heard on the speakers (speech) to be heard on the phone line.  The end caller will actually be hearing speech by the computer.

Divt if you another command I could try, I am more than happy to try.  If you don't think it's possible just let me know.

If someone else doesn't have an idea of what I can try then I will go ahead and award points to Divt.

Thank you.

Of course there is a solution.... any dialer program that can we find on the internet do it (like "Classic Phone Tools"). But how? Why we can only hear but not speak?
