This seems to be a common issue, but I haven't seen a good answer.
I need to declare a control based on a string value.

Select Case UCase(strControlType)
    Case UCase("DropDownList")
        Dim dynControl As New DropDownList
    Case UCase("CheckBoxList")
        Dim dynControl As New CheckBoxList
    Case UCase("RadioButtonList")
        Dim dynControl As New RadioButtonList
    Case Else
        Dim dynControl As New TextBox
End Select

Of course this throws the error in the subject line, because of scope.
How can I get it to work?
