I have Windows XP.  Mozilla 1.7.10.  Norton Internet Security with Norton Antivirus 2005.  There are still two months left on my subscription.
For some unknown reason, a few weeks ago the Live Update feature ceased to function.  I became aware of it when I noticed the date on updated antivirus definitions was over a week old.  I clicked LiveUpdate but received the following message:  "Unable to connect to host, LU 1814: LiveUpdate could not retrieve the catalog file of available Symantec product and component updates.  Please verify that you are able to connect to the Internet and run LiveUpdate again."
I can indeed connect to the internet (since I am writing this question), and I can go to the Symantec site to manually download and install the anti-virus definitions (whew!).  But the product and component updates are no longer accessible.
I don't know what happened. Perhaps something got misconfigured at some point.  I do have and use Spybot 1.4, and Spyware Blaster 3.4.  Those programs still succeed in downloading their updates.
I've tried turning off both firewalls, Windows, and Norton Internet Security, but that doesn't seem to help.
I checked msconfig "Normal Startup" to be sure everything was on.

I am troubled, frustrated, and stumped, so I ask the experts.
