PING: transmit failed, error code 1314
Hi
When we ping one of our servers. This is the error we get back = PING: transmit failed, error code 1314
If we ping another server it works fine.
This is only a problem from this one pc, the other pc works fine.
Pc running Windows XP.

Did you try changing the network cables for the server and that PC? Give it a try.

i had this issue, repairing the connection did not work, so i had to reset the ip interface. On winxp the command is
netsh int ip reset ResetLog.txt
which stands for netsh Interface IP Reset or wip all settings resetlog.txt is that file it will write the details to... also there is a winipfix utility out there that does in a gui...
** if you ever run this, it will wipe vpn clients and probably anything else that binds itself to tcp ip interface.

I just came across this problem and it was caused by an application called "mcafee host intrusion protection" which was blocking the communications for our application, as well as the PING command (which gave a 1314 error).
The application had been deployed or updated automatically over the network by the users IT department and so our application had mysteriously stopped working overnight without the user having done anything.
