BlackBerry Messaging Agent Warning Event ID: 20539 and 20530
I have a couple of Event Viewer Warnings that I’m trying to find additional info on. Both pertain to the Blackberry Messaging Agent. My configuration is below:
Windows 2003 STD Server SP1
BES 4.0.2 with 12 user accounts
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 STD Edition
The warnings are for one user that is complaining that he will not get any messages for an extended period of time( i.e. 4 hours) then all of the sudden will start to receive messages as normal for the rest of the day. I can't really see any correlation between the events and his issue, but my guess is that its related since its only happening to him.
Regarding event ID: 20539, RIM support reporting the following (which is not much help)
From RIM:
http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8021/728075/728850/728216/Known_Issues_-_Event_ID_20539,_RescanPIMItems_failed.html?nodeid=983996&vernum=0
Problem
When the BlackBerry Enterprise Server rescans personal information management (PIM) items, the following Event ID 20539 may appear in the Application Log of the Event Viewer in Microsoft Windows® Administrative Tools:
The description for Event ID ( 20539 ) in Source ( BlackBerry Messaging Agent BESName Agent 1 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: {UserName@Domain.com} RescanPIMItems(3) failed: SUCCESS.
The following appears in the Debug logs:
[40856] (06/06 00:02:54):{0x274} {<username>@rim.net} Starting Memos rescan
[20539] (06/06 00:02:54):{0x274} {<username>@rim.net} RescanPIMItems(3) failed: SUCCESS
Note: There has been no impact on the user because of this issue.
Cause
No cause has been determined for this issue.
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
As you can see, this is not much help..can anyone shed some light on what may be causing this error. also it seems to generate Event ID 20530, but i can't find any info on this Event ID.

RIM is still working on the issue as it stands right now, no time frame as to a fix.
To work around the issue, i turned off teh Synch of his Memo's and the errors went away in the event viewer. THe user does not use Memo so this is not a big issue at this time.
