System Error and Reboot after SP1 Installation

Hi

I have a strange problem. One W2003 SBS Server with 2 W2003 member servers. Terminal Services enabled on both W2003 member servers. One is a DELL PowerEdge 1800, the other a Dell 420SC. The 420SC took the SP1 update no problem. The 1800 blue screens every time anyone logs off or attempts to reboot. The resulting system error is Event ID 1003, category (102). Error code 000000ab, parameter1 00000001, parameter2 00000020, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000001. Following the link to Help and Support Center and you get a message that this is fixed in the next version of Windows Vista!

Uninstall SP1 and all is OK.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

This is H/W error please check either your RAM or POWER SuPPLY problem
Bugcheck code AB is caused by a session driver not freeing its pool allocations prior to a session unload. This indicates a bug in win32k.sys, atmfd.dll, rdpdd.dll, or a video driver.

When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 or 1003 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump
Check system event 1001 and 1003 and it has the content of the blue screen.

Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.The bugcheck was : 0xc000000a (0xe1270188, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804032100).
Microsoft Windows..... A dump was saved in: .......

Event Source: System Error
Event Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003
Description:
Error code 1000007f, parameter1 0000000d, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000

Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001/1003. Copy the content and paste it back here

Zip 5 to 6 minidumps to a zip file and attach them here.  I will study the dump and find out the culprit.

I will get that info to you this evening if I can. How do I attach zip files to this web site, or do you want me to email them to you?
By the way, I updated the video driver twice with no luck - once from windows update and once from Dell.

Andy
If you don't know how to attach file to webspace, email the dumps to me with the subject "W2k3 sp1".
Make a Installation cd with SP1 included. Use slipstream to do it.
Do it only if your server can be formatted. A fresh install with SP1 included should work .. else you have faulty hardware.

Usually if a SP installation fails once.. it never installs again .

That hotfix worked! Did you work it out from the minidumps or a search of the Internet or some other method?
Microsoft Tech. Support said that they are still working on this problem as only around 50% of people who installed it got a fix. Apparently another hotfix will be out shortly.

Thanks for your help.
