Restart Samba
I am using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES 9).

If I do a
rcnmb restart &&  rcsmb restart
to update the config file(/etc/samba/smb.conf)

will it affect the user that currently logon to the samba server? (I have tested it with vmware, the user session just hang there, so I think the answer is yes)

If yes, how to update the samba server without affecting the users that are currently logon?

I don't know that it is possible.  Could you update it at a time of minimal usage?  (Just what you wanted to do at 2am on Saturday morning.)
