hai
when i start any application either windows xp or linux which are on the same hard disk, i can see patches on the monitor which moves along with mouse .I changed the monitor, changed the pixel settings, thought problem with mouse and changed it ,but still the problem exists.I got to know that it is not a problem with hardware..is it a problem with Virtual memory or cache ??...
can u guys suggest me ..how to go abt it.
thanks

I believe that your driver is absolutely not the issue since the problem exists in two different operating systems that share NOTHING for software (including drivers).
While I feel it's most likely the video card, it could also be the monitor, memory (if your PC shares its RAM with a built-in video interface), or the resolution you are trying to use on the card (since you are likely to be using the same settings under both OS'es). Try reducing the resolution "one notch" and see if it gets any better. Bear in mind that an improvement here does NOT necessarily mean it ISN'T the video card.
