I am running Project 2003.
I am also running XP Home with all SPs on board.
I am also running Office 2002 Pro.
Whenever I go to help, Project immediately goes to the online help. I don't want that. I find that what I need to know is available faster from the offline help.
I have tried the Office Assistant, but it has the same setting. Even though it doesn't in Office.
I find that it brings the program to a halt while it connects, then it fights with the firewall (I know that I could just set the firewall to let it connect, but I don't see why Project needs to go online, and I'm not gonna let it.) Then there is a lag while I tell it to stay offline, and then, lickety split, I get the answer I wanted in the first place.
Offline help has been good all along, it isn't any more limited, I think, for the simple questions I ask than the online help, and that's where I wanna start.
I have tried the online and offline help systems to figure out how to change that default. I have gone to the Options menu and been through the tabs to see if anything allows anything other than online as the default.
