1073741819 - services.exe error code when starting mcafee av software, then the server simply shuts down

Hello,

this windows 2003 server had a virus infection recently. The viruses have since been cleaned, however, it seems to have broken the mcafee virusscan 8.0i. When the server reboots, the virusscan is not enabled, when it is enabled after a few minutes the server initiates a shutdown process with the error code mentioned in the subject.

Also, DEP somehow added windows explorer and some other essential programs to its list, I manually checked the programs to make sure they were not blocked anymore.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Now a new added complication. I tried removing macafee virusscan and re-installing it. removal went smoothly, but after installation, it promptly crashed and the server rebooted with the "shutting down in 40 seconds" message.

The message is regarding lsass.exe.

Now I cannot even log on to the server, the error is "an internal error occured". And then the server reboots after a few moments. Client computers cannot log on either, that also causes the server to reboot.

Any suggestions at this point wiuld be immensely helpful.

At this point, the server was booted into safe mode and all McAfee services, except groupshield are runnig. This seems to allow windows to operate normally. However, I would like to get all McAfee services running normally.
Correction to last comment, all McAfee services except GroupShield have been DISABLED!
Hm... looks like this post is not getting any attention...
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows
reboot your system and go to safe mode with network the go to windows update
and if you disbale mcafee go to http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp and scan your system

Please advise
