Cannot logon in SafeMode

Even though logged in as an administrator...once you try to log on in safe mode it does not allow you.

You can log in perfect in normal mode.

Does it give an error?  Try making sure you're using an appropriate local account (net accounts might not authenticate if you're using AD due to net not working in safe mode)

Try creating a NEW account. Login normal mode to create profile. shutdown and try safemode with that new account (also you can give the new account admin access if you like)

Note this is again a LOCAL account.

Also post any error messages received if any.

no error messages just something like "invalid password"

this is a local account.
Maybe a long shot, but got any funky keyboard drivers or region settings for different key layouts that may be unloaded in safe mode and changing which keys do what..?  Like, for example, maybe shift-2 is doing " instead of @ (UK/AUS kboard differences), or something along those lines?

Good Luck

why dont you create a new account and try to log in safe mode lets see if that works
There is nothing wrong with user name and password. Safe Mode registry settings are totally different from Normal Mode and that's the reason you can successfully log on in Normal Mode but not in Safe Mode.

If you can log on successfully using *Safe Mode with Networking* then do let us know.
