DevExpress BadImageFormatException error

I am using C# DevStudio.Net 2003 with DevExpress.  In tracking down a bug I installed the latest version of DevExpress and then uninstalled it and installed an earlier version.  Now when I run my program, I a dialog box stating:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.BadImageFormatException'
occurred in mscorlib.dllget

Additional information: The type serialized in the .resources file was not the
same type that the .resources file said it contained.  Expected
"DevExpress.XtraReports.UI.SerializableString" but read
I tried uninstalling and re-installing both the old and the new version of DevExpress, but I can't seem to get rid of this bug.  Any help would be appriciated.

I had installed two different versions of DevExpress.  Once I uninstalled everything and cleared the GAC (Global Assembly Cache) then re-installed it, things worked great.  See
