"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. If you want the CDRW to be able to store like normal disk, which can be drag and drop the files in Windows Explorer, yes, it need to be formatted, and special driver such as InCD need to be run to support this.

You can format using the utility that comes with the CDRW drive, such as Nero InCD.

Depends on the compatibility of the CD player, and the data format used, it can be read in certain CD player but not all.

i do not suggest using this feature, like incd - it renders the disk unreadable on other systems and softwares.
and you can use the disk in multisession : add to the contents. But this too may cause problems on (older) drives and systems)
I agree with nobus. It is much better to use the full CD writing software for that, like nero, and not install the InCD part at all (or DirectCD or similar with other products). I also don't reccomend using CDRW's, they are much less reliable than CDR's, and I've often not been able to use them long enough for them to be really usable.
