Drawin Lines in a console app

I am trying to recreate an old dos program for my grandpa's company, as it does not work on Windows xp or 2000. I am trying to create a console app to keep it simple for his employee(s) (2 of them). I liked how the programmer made boxes around his menu like so:
|          OTC ACCOUNTING SYSTEM                                                |
| (I)nvoice                                              etc....                              |

Is there any way to draw lines in a command line application using c or c++ (i know both)? I just hope I don't have to go into assembly. Thank you!

this will be best...download and check...

Beware that you can not run a Win32 console app on DOS. You'll need a DOS compiler - e.g. djgpp or Turbo C++ - and build a DOS executable.
