Message Box In ASP.NET

Hi,
  I need to display message box in ASP.NET web page.  I am using VB.NET scripting language.

  I have written something like this

if ds.tables(0).rows.count = 0 then
Response.Write("<script>alert('There are no Open queries redirecting to New Query Screen');</script>")
Response.Redirect("NewQuery.aspx")
End If

It directly redirects to NewQuery page without displaying message box.

Interestingly, this works fine when I write only Response.Write on to a new page.  But doesnt shows message box when written in the existing code as shown above.

Is there any need to import Windows.Systems.Forms

of course it doesn't work, you tell it to redirect on the server side. you need to add a second line of javascript that redirects after the alert, like window.location = 'newquery.aspx';

so
if ds.tables(0).rows.count = 0 then
Response.Write("<script>alert('There are no Open queries redirecting to New Query Screen');window.location='newquery.aspx';</script>")
End If

This works...

string strScript = "<Script language='javascript'> alert('There are no Open queries redirecting to New Query') </Script> "
System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Write(strScript)
