Setting a appointment / reminder in Microsoft Outlook using ASP.NET

I have a form on a web page, hosted on the company intranet, where-in i have the user registering for a course. Is there a way that i can set a appointment and a reminder in the users calendar after the user chooses a particular course timing?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Present a link or icon for the user to click.

Have that link open a new page which write a vCalendar text file (extension .vcs). Depending on the user's browser settings (which you can't control) the user will be propted to open the vCalendar item and add it to Outlook, ot the user will be propted to download the vCalendar item.

I forgot to add, you need to set the response headers for the Content-Type to "text/x-vCalendar" and for the Content-Disposition to be inline or attachment and give the filename. has a .NET vCaledar sample code. has the iCaledar format (different spec).
