Windows Media Player 10 - Stuck on Connecting...
Windows 2000 Pro SP4 machine running Windows Media Player 10.  Anytime the user wants to stream audio from IE6, he media player never connects.  It just sits there on connecting and never proceeds.  Other computers on the same network are connecting just fine, so it is not the firewall or proxy.  The user can right-click, save target as, and play the audio fil that way (if it is a downloadable audio file), but no audio will stream on the player.  I have reinstalled Windows Media Player 10 with no improvement.

Ideas?

Still do not answer the question?
Where did you download "WMP 10" For "Windows 2000" ?

The link that you provided once loaded, and you click on "Windows Media Player 10" [Download Now]
The next page on: Windows 2000 Detected shows:

=======================================

Setup detected that you are running: Windows 2000

So, once again, I ask?
Where did you get "Windows Media Player 10" for "Windows 2000" From?
You did not get it from the link that you just provided.

i stand corrected...when I click on that link, it tells me that it is giving me version 9 instead (since I am running Windows 2000).  I just clicked the download button and installed the software and assumed it was version 10 since that was what it was showing before I downloaded it.  Sorry for the confusion

Problem still exists however, running version 9

Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released (Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server) that shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console. All versions of the operating system support NTFS 3.0, Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage. The Windows 2000 Server family includes support for Active Directory services, Distributed File System and fault-redundant storage volumes.
