IP addresses 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 needed

Hi all. I have just moved house and am using a new Wanadoo Livebox to access the internet on my desktop. I have a work laptop that I use to get through to SAP for home-working. All internet access on the desktop and on the laptop are without wires and working correctly. However (once I have successfully logged into Check Point VNC Securemote) on the laptop, I cannot log on to SAP. Tech support at work (who are no whizzes at this thing!) suggested that the problem was due to the router part of the Livebox having an IP address of 192.168.1.1. This conflicted with the SAP network IP address and I needed to change this address to 192.168.0.1. I tried this in the Livebox settings and everything stopped working, internet access of any sort on desktop and laptop. I have retored factory settings on the Livebox and now things are fine - only my SAP access is not working.

I appreciate I may have missed some necessary details here as I am an SAP person, not a networker but any help/suggestions, in relatively basic tone, would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, Stuart

Thanks for your answers guys, particularly the idiots guide Burton - appreciated. A few calls to Wanadoo til I got someone who knew networking sorted it out. Basically, the 192.168.0.1 change to the Livebox was correct but I then needed to change the TCP-IP settings manually on both my PC and the laptop to give them both static IP's (192.168.0.201 and 192.168.0.202) given a default gateway of 192.168.0.1. He also gave me some DNS settings to set manually.

Thanks again.
