Outlook 2002 File As, and Display As problems

I have a user that is having an issue with their contacts in Outlook 2002.  When she adds a new contact, she puts the company name in the Full Name field.  Outlook thinks that the company is part of the name and files it.

For example...

In the Full Name box, she types: Andy Smith -Company
In the E-mail box, she types: andy@company.com
She then saves the contact and Outlook files it as: -Company, Andy Smith

She wants to be able to search for the contact by last name (Smith), however Outlook thinks the last name is: -Company

She is doing the format this way to get the company name in the Display As field.  So the displayed email address would be Andy Smith -Company (andy@company.com)

Any thoughts?

Hi there jlavetan,

in Outlook you can change the default setting of the Fila As in Tools / Options /[Contact Options].  But you cannot select First Surname -Company in the list.  The nearest is Surname, Firstname [Company]

Is this of any help?

She does have some contacts that are correct.  She needs to have the company in the name field to display the email address with the company name.  But, she also wants to search by the person's last name.

I don't see how this worked in the past, but it seemed to...

She finally admitted that they could have been this way the entire time.  She just used the excuse that it was because we changed out the Exchange server.
