Keeping 2nd partition unhidden.

I guess I'm backward in that I have 2 primary partitons and want both to be unhidden.  I created an 8GB partition for XP and the remaining 32GB was partitioned as a primary also for advancecd.  I used partition magic to do the partitioning, and bootmagic to boot to either one.  The problem is when I boot to XP, the second partition is hidden.  Partiton magic shows it hidden and allows me to unhide it, so it claims.  It boots, says partition unhidden, but when I get to XP, its hidden again.

As I understand it, bootmagic (I have 7.0) can hide partitons too.  But I have yet to see any obvious way to do, or undo this.

So my question is....How to I get both partitions to stay unhidden?

have you attempted to assign the partition a volume letter under control panel-administrative tools - computer management - disk management?  That may be your problem...
Use the advanced functions of Partition Magic to determine the partition type.  It's probably type 17, which is "Hidden HPFS/NTFS"

You want to change it to type 07 which is simply "HPFS/NTFS"

edkim80: The partition got a drive letter once it was created.  I moved files to it then after a re-boot it would not show up.  Bootmagic can boot to it.  But I want to be able to move files on and off the 2nd partition while in XP.

fixer64: It's FAT32 but I understand the concept.  Hidden partitions have a 1 in the first hex digit.  Partition Magic showed the partition as hidden.  I went to advanced to make it un-hidden and it went through the moves, which includes a re-boot.  When XP came back up, the partition was still hidden.

I'm starting to think bootmagic is the issue.

Looks like I figured it out.  There are settings in the properties for each partition in boot magic.  I changed those and I can see both partitions now.
