ASKER

hi,

say i set g711 as primary and g729 as secondary

but 10% of all my networks only support g711, so majority of my call will fail over to g729, correct ?

what will be the delay that i'm looking at?

The only additional delay when the secondary is used instead of the primary codec will be the packet delay when the request for the primary is refused and the secondary request sent. This will depend on the speed of the network but should be less than 50ms (0.05 seconds) generally so insignificant.
which will you prefer

pri 729 sec 723

or

pri 711 sec 729
