Can't apply MS office 2000 SR1

Hi,

When I try to install the SR1 patch for Office 2000, I receive the following message:

"The Update Program did not locate the expected version of Microsoft Office on this machine" diffrents machines, same message.

Any idea on how to solve this problem ?

Reinstall/repair the Office 2000 installation. Then try again.

just a suggestion but are you trying to apply SR1a? then it's not needed, the message could be more helpfull

No, I'm not installing SR1A. I failed to install SR1.

Are you doing this from an update you downloaded? Or from the Office Update site?

First, I was trying with an updte I downloaded and failed every time.

Then I Tried to open from the web, and finally worked. Don´t know why

From the Office Update Site, it worked ok, but failed with the downloaded version.

Then why did the points go to bruintje when I posted the link and suggested the Office Update site?
