Windows 2000 CORRUPT FOLDER

Somehow my Documents and Settings folder does not exist anymore and I cannot start my computer.
I have the Harddrive slaved onto another pc and there is a Documents and Settings FILE!!!
please help
all my stuff was in the desktop with no backup

is it like an undelete software ?
i have tried that
i just came here, cause maybe its a bug that windows wont recognize a folder as a folder instead it recognizes it as a file.

is there such a thing ?

No, it isn't an undelete software. This software scans the bad disk but doesn't change anything on it. It looks for files that are recoverable, and lists them. If you have the registered version of the software, it will then allow you to copy the files to some other HD or network drive. The good thing about that is that it doesn't change anything on the drive, so you could still send it to a recovery agency if the program can't recover the data.

i tried kinoppix but it says it cannot mount the drive =[

getdataback seems like a good program but it did not solve the problem
i gave up and formated hehehe i had a recent backup on my email (gmail rules) hehehe
