Search Folder Configuration

we have outlook 2003 and have set up a search folder to display unread messages. When a new message arrives we open the folder read it and everything works OK UNTIL  we delete a message and then we then see a section open at the top of the search folders showing our deleted messages. How can we remove this so when we delete them we can't see the deleted message in the search folder?  We had it working at one stage where we could not see the deleted messages but for some reason we can't find the setting to remove viewing deleted messages. Does anyone know how to do this?

Greetings, boltweb.

Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing and post it somewhere that we can see it?

I think all you need to do is to redefine the search folder to exclude the "deleted items" folder.

What about the default "unread items" search folder?
Are you using this or a "self-created " search folder?
boltwebAuthor Commented:
we don't have a default unread items search folder any more - It was deleted some time back. The new folder is "self created"

Thanks it seems as though we've solved it based on your feedback. We deleted the custom folder and set up the default unread folder and this is automatically configured only to show unread message and not unread deleted messages.
