I'm a student at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and working on my senior seminar project for my Mater's degree in Computer Science.  I am trying to compare the Spring and Struts frameworks in the area of extensibility.  I have prepared a short survey at:

http://www.createsurvey.com/c/31128-0nVgEU/

I would be ever so grateful if you would fill it out if you have had experience with either (or both) frameworks!

When you take the survey, please be sure to put your Experts-Exchange ID as part of the first free-form field.  Then post a quick note here stating that you took it.  After the two people post to this question saying they've taking the survey, I'll allocate 250 points to each of you and post this a forth time with another block of 250-points-per-person, and so on untill I have enough responses to my survey!

Thanks for your help!

Jennifer :-)

Surely there are more than four of you out here that have had experience with Spring or Struts!  Please!  I could really use your help!  The survey is quite painless.  I hope you'll help me out!

Thanks!

forgot to make a comment, though
struts is really deprecated now and is being replaced by struts shale

Small world, aturetsky! :-)  That's amazing that we're looking at the same two frameworks!  Best of luck as you work on those modules!

Thanks for filling out the survey... Just to verify, did you answer only about Struts, or also Spring?  And did you put any comments in the "Additional information you'd like to share..." question?

Once one more person responds, I'll award the points! :)

And, the need to submit my paper is near, and my "subscription" to the survey website it about to expire, so please try to answer by the weekend! (technically, by 3/4/2006).

Thanks again everyone for your help!!

Jennifer
I answered for both struts and spring, but no, I didn't put any additional information, though I should have.

Success on your project!

Well, it's time for me to be compiling my results, so I recokon I'll close out this question.  Thanks to those of you who answered my survey!

aturetsky, I reckon you get to be the lucky recipient of the whole 500 pts since no one else answered this question! :)
I know you're new to the forum and might not know this, but you rarely want to give someone a "B."  Most experts prefer no grade at all than to have "B" tarnish their answer record (for EE purposes, B is considered a bad grade).  At present, I am on experts-exchange to ask questions, rather be an expert answerer, so I don't feel so strongly about it, but in the future, or if I was an expert, I would care.

Oh, okay, I didn't know no grade was an option... and I wasn't quite sure exactly the guidelines.  Thanks for setting me straight! :)  I'll remember it for next time!
When I said many experts would prefer to get no grade rather than a B, I meant they would prefer their answer not to be considered accepted altogether.  Once you accept the answer, you'd have to give a grade.

Normally, you should give an "A" unless there's a very compeling reason to give a "B".

So, for example, in my mind, my not putting my Experts-Exchange ID as part of the first free-form field is an issue, but not an issue enough to warrant a "B."

For more information on what experts have to say about "B" grades, try the following url: http://search.experts-exchange.com/search.jsp?query=grade+A+grade+B&searchType=all&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0
