Changing thelinks of SMS 2003 home page

HEllo All,

How can I change/cutomise the links in the hope page od Windows Small Business Seerver 2003. By home page I mean the page which is shown when http://servername is typed, the default page of the default web site of IIS 6.0.

What I want to do is to change the intranet site address and also to add more links, such as Outlook Web Access link etc.

Thanks in advance

You can easily change the links by editing C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\default.htm  however I don't recommend it since this is a rather insecure method to provide access to resources on your network.  It sounds like you haven't discovered Remote Web Workplace yet.  This would be the place that your remote users would have links to OWA and other items.

Check it out at http://servername/remote

Hello TechSoEasy,

Thankyou for your reply. I am in the process of discovering RWW. Infact what I meant to ask was in the first link of the home page where it is showint "Connect to you company website" it is taking the link by default as http://companyweb. My doubt is fomr where it is picking up this link as I have changed my host header name as "", instead of just "companyweb"

Hope you can help me.

What was your reasoning for changing the host header to  There's no reason to do this because that has no bearing on how you access Sharepoint from the Internet. Since it uses port 444, it already has a unique entry by using --  as long as you've entered that host name in the DNS zone file at where ever that zone file is hosted (usually your ISP).

Changing the host header from companyweb will cause further problems with other links that are built into SBS.
