Change the hardware of a server
Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 SBS already installed on an old computer and I would like to change the whole server without loosing my Exchange configurations and server settings.
I don't use SQL and ISA server.
How can I proceed ?

robberbaron... I've done it about 50 times.. and maybe 1 or 2 machines didn't make it. Ideally start from scratch you can't go wrong. when you transplant the drive, you bring along artifacts from preivous drivers.
A friendly shoutout....Is this is still open.. what's the current status? Any new development? I would like to table this or help you out. If there is a valid answer could you please grade accordingly. If there were many input from other's splitting the points would be good as we invested our time in helping you out. Perhaps you forgot about us? Please advise.
cool. thank you!
you might even decide to image the original drive first using WD or Quantum applications to give yourself an easy backup.
remember that if your SBS is an OEM version (like mine) this scenario isnt likely to be supported by the licence. But then maybe you new box can be an OEM as they are very cheap and addon licences should transfer.
