troubleshooting Question

Over the last few months I have learned heaps about Mail Merge through EE. I now wont to Saveas when the Document is closed
1. I have a
2 it's merged via an access table
3. One of the Fields contains Patient number
4. The form in access has a text box where the user enters the Patient number and then from a list they choose a Letter. The access table is populated with that patient details
5. The document contains Patient number plus other details Name address etc
6. The user wonts to save the doc as "Patientnumber-Date.doc" (45-10-Feb-2006).
My question, is there a common variable that can be used by both Access and word, If not is it possible to get Patient number from the document

Any help most appreciated
