How do I setup Minolta Di350. IP setup, can access config utility, just can't setup printer on server.
-I can access the config utility via http.
-This printer works fine with another computer (it was setup by a Minolta Tech).
-It is currently using Pagepro Light verson 1.0 as the network print utility
I have tried is to use the 'add printer wizard' to add a local TCP/ip port. I create a port by the IP Address of the printer. When I choose the driver to install I get this error message:
"The current print driver is not compatable with a policy enabled on your computer that blocks windows NT 4.0 or windows 2000 kernal-mode drivers."
The driver file I use was given to me by the tech.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

The driver file I have is the same driver file that is being used on another Windows SBS machine. It works fine on that machine... of course I didn't set it up. Heh. I would really appreciate some more help.

You may need to edit Group Policies to enable this driver to be installed. This is a new "feature" implemented in Win XP/2003. For more details see

I got it. The server was not accepting unsigned drivers. The driver I was using was unsigned. I got a different, signed driver and it worked fine.
I would like to know how to change the 'allow/not allow unsigned drivers' setting, however, incase I don't have a signed driver in the future. Whoever can answer that can have the credit for this problem.
Thanks for your Help!

I'm not sure Nobus. It seems strange to me that I would have to download a temporary exe to allow the Administrator account to install an unsigned printer. This solution is not ideal, but it seems to work for some people. I'll wait to see if I can get some more answers before I accept yours... Thanks for posting! :)

To finish this off and kinda consolidate the info...
First, turn off driver signing policies.
To access the driver signing policies:
-right click 'My Computer'
-'properties'
-'hardware' tab
-driver signing is there
If this doesn't work follow nobus' link for more info:
