2nd graphic cards problem

Hi,

I've got an onboard ATI graphix on my PC.
I had, on an older computer, a gforce fx 5200 PCI.

I would like to use my 2 screens, one on the onboard graphix and the other one on the gforce.

When i boot and on the windows desktop, i've got this message that i will try to translate from french to english.

"the graphic driver can not be used now, it has been made for another windows version that is not compatible anymore with this version.

The system boots with standard VGA driver.

call your reseller...and so on"

this nvidia graphix was working fine within windows XP
Motherboard compatibility problems ?

Do you have some ideas that may help ?

Thanks a lot.

Which video is giving the error message, Onboard or PCI?
Go into your bios and make the onboard video the default video to start from. then you install and setup  the pci card as the secondary video card, ensure you have the proper drivers for XP when you install.
Also what version of windows are you running.

hi,

Video cards giving the error message is the gforce fx5200 PCI (2 vga outputs)
the onboard video is the default one and working fine.
Drivers came frome nvidia.comweb site and made for XP

My OS is Windows XP pro, serpack 1 (and dont want to install SP2, is a shit)

DO you want to use just the Gforce card ( 2 outputs ) on 1 from the motherboard and one from the gforce ?

If just the gforce, I would disable the onboard VGA in the BIOS.

I hope this helps !

hello,

I want one monitor on the onboard card and the other one on the gforce. (i wont use both VGA outputs on the gforce)
When I disable the ATI onboard graphix, the gforce is working fine, no drivers problems or messages, and when I enable the onboard ATI, i've got the problem.

May it comes from an incompatibility from nvidia and ATI ?

Thanks.

OK,

I've bought a new graphix (ATI one) PCI Express slot and its working fine now.
