unexpected shutdown of the server

I use Veritas backup Exec software in the network, and sometimes the server that has the backupExec software installed on it looses connection with another server[SERVER2]that hold folders to be backed up.

I went to the server2 and in its tcp/ip configuration/wins tab I enabled netbios over tcp/ip then disabled it , and the computer rebooted by itself.

when it restarts the server that has backup exec can connect to the server2. but I don't know why server2 reboots by itself, and in the event log it says unexpected shutdown.
note that there is no WINS on the server2.

any idea?

thanks

Try to disable automatic shutdown under recovery option. (for win2k3)
1. Control Panel -> System -> Startup and Recovery -> Unchecked the "Automatic Restart"

After the setting, please repeat the process which causing the reboot. You may see a blue screen.
1. Note the err msg.
2. You may also do analyst using windbg againt the memdump.

Most of the case is the services/hardware causing the restarting. MemDump will help you on analyst what is causing the restart.
